About our farm
Dines Barn is situated on a traditional family arable farm comprising 1250 acres. The farm has been owned by our family for 80 years and grows 900 acres of arable crops (wheat, malting barley, oats and rape). The traditional crop rotation provides control of weeds and disease whilst maintaining diverse habitats for wildlife. 90 acres of grassland managed with no fertilizer or sprays including 50 acres of historic parkland. There are 100 acres of traditional woodland consisting mainly of oak, beech and cherry over hazel coppice.
The farm is environmental award-winning and is actively managed to promote biodiversity and help the environment. Over 100 acres is managed solely for wildlife including wildflower and wild bird feed plots.
We have over 30 kms of hedgerows an extensive restoration and new plantings over the last 20 years mean we now have more woodland and hedgerows than 80 years ago
